How can we adopt or foster a child in State care?
The State of Connecticut is responsible for many children. They all have wonderful strengths. Visit CTfosters.com to learn more.
You’ll need to meet standard adoption requirements and become licensed to adopt a child in State care. Once you’re licensed, you can choose the age, gender, ethnicity, and needs level of the child you’ll care for.
The Department of Children and Families provides training, financial assistance, and social workers to support you. Other supports include
- Connecticut Alliance of Foster and Adoptive Families (CAFAF)
- UConn Health’s Adoption Assistance Program
