ADVISORY: DEEP Kicks-Off the 20th Anniversary of the No Child Left Inside® Families in the Parks Program With Free Family Fishing Day May 10th

(HARTFORD) –The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that the 20th Anniversary of the No Child Left Inside® (NCLI) Families in the Parks Program will begin on Saturday, May 10, 2025, with Free Family Fishing Day!  

The Families in the Parks Program is a series of fun activities, pop-up events, and programs designed to introduce families to the outdoors, build the next generation of environmental stewards, and showcase Connecticut’s State Parks and Forests. The 20th Anniversary of the NCLI Program will provide Connecticut families with year-round outdoor experiences with a wide variety of FREE, fun and educational outdoor recreational opportunities. 

Free Family Fishing Day (no license required) will occur at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, CT on Saturday May 10th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  In partnership with the DEEP Fish with CARE program, the day will be filled with outdoor fun, activities, trout stocking and fishing with the family!
